Kamla Mantra: Sreem

(pronounced S R E E M)

The Goddess Kamla, (Kamala) is the tenth and final Mahavidya (Great Wisdom Goddess). She is known as the Tantric expression of the Goddess Lakshmi but differs only in its enduring quality. Lakshmi comes and goes, but when Kamla arrives, she is here to stay. What is this energy all about? Kamla is the Goddess of fullness, completion, abundance and wealth. She is the epitome of feminine beauty and grace. Wealth is seen as a fluid receiving of good health, worldly wealth, nourishment, love and happiness.

Kamla is depicted as a four armed beautiful young goddess, with a golden complexion, wearing jewels and fine red clothing, seating on a lotus in a large pool of water, carrying two lotus flowers, offering protection and blessings with her other hands. The name Kamla means lotus. She has an elephant either side of her drawing the water in from the pool and then shooting it back out. Just as this water circulates, so too does the energy of sustainability. As the mahavidya she also has a terrifying aspect which embraces the light and dark alike. Unlike Lakshmi she is without a consort as she is everything. She is the totality, she is the divine mother.

Kamla blesses you with abundance, she adores you when you are generous, gracious, thankful and kind. She gives all that you are seeking on the material plane including children, life partners and a fulfilling family life. In the trinity of birth, life and death. Kamla is the sustaining principle of life. She also brings a state of moksha, englightenment for those who are seeking the bliss of the abundance of the divine mother.

Kamla resides at the seventh chakra in her ultimate state, as a form of worship she can be connected with at the heart. Gratitude, generosity, self-love and recognition of you living the fullest expression of yourself in a way that sustains both you and others, can be attained through the sound SREEM and working with the Kamla Yantra.
